Cristiano Ronaldo: `Waitress is mother of son`
The mother of Cristiano Ronaldo`s son is a waitress he had a brief fling with while in America, it has been claimed.
The Portuguese soccer star caused widespread shock when he announced he had become a father earlier this month. He used his Facebook page to reveal the news, saying the mother wanted to keep her identity "confidential".
Since then, there have been repeated claims the 25-year-old used a surrogate to have the child, called Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. The baby is being cared for by the sportsman`s family in Portugal, and so far they have only confirmed the boy is well and looks like his dad.
It has now been alleged Cristiano met the mother of his son last year while partying in America. She is said to be a waitress the soccer star took a shine to, and slept with just once. The pair reportedly met at a restaurant in Los Angeles, where Cristiano approached her with a very direct chat-up line.
"Ronni looked the girl in the eye and said extremely directly, `Me, you, f**k, f**k.` She was taken aback and just said, `What?` She didn`t actually understand what he meant. She was totally non-plussed," a source said.
"That`s typical Ronni - he pretends his English is terrible when it suits him, and comes straight to the point. It was yet another one-night stand and Ronni thought he would never see her again."
The girl is said to have discovered she was pregnant several weeks later. She apparently got in touch with Cristiano after contacting his agent Jose Mendes. Upon hearing the news, Cristiano is said to have asked his mother Dolores and sisters Elma and Liliana for advice. They decided a paternity test would take place once the child was born, with Cristiano promising support if the baby was his.
Once it was confirmed he was the father, the sportsman is said to have paid the waitress $15.1 million to keep her identity secret and give him custody of the boy.
"When it comes to family, he is very much his mother`s son. They are a close-knit, traditional Roman Catholic family and the minute paternity was established there was absolutely no doubt Ronni would be doing the right thing," the source told British newspaper The Sunday Mirror. "There was no question of his walking away.
"The child`s mother would be properly provided for to enable her to live a life in keeping with the upbringing he will have. Dolores` view is that if the child eventually decides to make contact with the mother, it is important she is living an affluent lifestyle."
Cristiano is said to have told pals he will tell his son about his mother when he turns 18.
